Stephen Ho | Vale

A humble and modest man who excelled at anything he put his mind to. Steve emigrated from England to Australia where he began his career as a full time scuba instructor.  For 7 years he dedicated his life to the ocean, educating divers and exploring the deep technical wrecks and reefs off the New South Wales coast while assisting with historical and conservation-led studies.

An accomplished academic with MEng (Hons) Civil Engineering and BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy & Economics (1st class), a certified rebreather diver and a technical diving instructor for several scuba agencies.

Sadly, on August 5th 2021, 10 days before his 34th birthday, we lost Steve in a tragic scuba diving accident. All those who knew Steve, understood the kind, gentle and caring person he was. He has left a hole in the heart of the Sydney scuba diving community and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In his memory, Steve’s family and friends founded the Stephen H2O Nipper Water Program, educating young children who need to build their swimming skills and ability in open water.

Rest in peace buddy.
