Dear Member:

We are excited to announce that The Explorers Club will be reopening to the membership on Monday, July 26th.

We are taking precautions to ensure the safety and security of our members, staff, and guests and have initiated the following protocol for individuals visiting headquarters:

·         Members are requested to call Reception at (212) 628-8383 if they intend to visit the Club. Since we will not be operating on a 100% capacity, calling ahead of your visit will ensure that we do not have more members and guests than allowed.

·         Members and guests must submit to a temperature check (those with elevated temperatures will not be admitted) and must also agree to the following:

·         That you are not feeling unwell with symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath;

·         That you have not had close contact with someone who has a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) within the last 10 days;

·         That you agree to wear a mask while in Club Headquarters;

·         That you have not traveled overseas in the last 14 days, and

·         That you are entering and utilizing the Club facilities at your own risk

This is an evolving situation and restrictions will be eased and/or tightened in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

The Club will be operating on Summer Schedule, opening at 9:00 a.m. and closing at 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Public lectures will continue virtually and large gatherings and bar usage will be restricted until September. Request for access to the archives should be addressed to Archivist Lacey Flint, at  LFlint@Explorers.org.

We greatly appreciate your patience during this difficult time. I know that we are all very much looking forward to "business as usual," but with the advance of the Delta Variant, we are forced to take precautions that will protect the staff and those visiting the Club.

Be safe and well.
