Dr Richard "Harry" Harris presents The Castleguard Cave Expedition
Richard Harris’s career in anaesthesia and aeromedical retrieval medicine has enabled him to combine his expertise in diving, wilderness and remote area health. His love of underwater exploration has led him to work on National Geographic documentaries, feature films and with various teams worldwide in the role of diver, underwater cameraman and of course medical support. A member of the Explorers Club, in 2015 he was recognised with an Australian award for Outstanding Contributions to Cave Exploration and in 2017, he was awarded The Australasian Technical Diver of the Year.
In March 2020 Dr Richard Harris joined cavers from the Alberta Speleological Society to explore the the Castleguard Cave. The Castleguard Cave is a limestone cave located at the north end of Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada. With 20,357 metres of surveyed passages (as of 2007), it is Canada's longest cave, and its fifth deepest at 384 metres. Castleguard Cave ascends gently from its entrance and terminates beneath the Columbia Icefield.
