The Australia & New Zealand Chapter of the Explorers Club (ANZEC) is proud to announce the next ANZEC Evening of Adventure in Sydney.
This intimate evening is open to all members and non-members and will include stimulating presentations from two pioneer adventurers – Andrew Fox and Anthony Gordon.
Andrew Fox presents Life in The Shark Lane
Andrew Fox has spent over 40 years introducing filmmakers, photographers researchers and tourists to one of the worlds greatest adventures. He is recognised internationally as a leading authority on Great White Sharks.
With a life spent at sea leading many filming and research expeditions, Andrew grew up working closely with many of the world’s leading great white shark scientists and conservationists including Dr. Eugenie Clarke, John McCosker, the Cousteau Society, Barry Bruce from the CSIRO, Ron and Valerie Taylor, Howard Hall, and National Geographic photographers including David Doubilet and Brian Skerry. More recently he has collaborated on many exciting new projects with Dr. Charlie Huveneers. Andrew has enjoyed co-authoring with such white shark authorities on many significant publications in fields as diverse as white shark population biology, behaviour and shark attack mitigation technology.
He has worked on over 100 film documentaries including productions for Disney, National Geographic, BBC, Universal Studios, and the Discovery Channel. Andrew is a recognised, globally, as a leading authority on Great White sharks. He’s often approached by media to give his opinion on environmental issues, shark attacks and shark culling. His balanced point-of-view is highly respected in Australia and overseas.
With over 40 years cage diving he has easily spent more time in and under the water filming, photographing and observing great whites than anyone else in the world. now promotes each Rodney Fox Shark Expedition as a thrilling encounter with sharks and the world they live in but uses this platform as a research operation. Every trip, Andrew still observes or learns something new.
Anthony Gordon Documentary film maker
Following on from 8 years working for the Red Cross as a remote area Trauma Specialist Anthony brought his remote area, mountaineering & survival expertise to the production skill set to become one of the world’s greatest remote area wilderness storytellers.
He now heads Nothin’ But Shorts International to deliver all his experience to clients on a world stage from the jungles of Ecuador to the desserts of the middle east. Project locations range from the heights of the Himalaya Mountains to the African Plains, and projects cover subject in 62 countries. In the world of adventure and ultra-sports, Anthony set himself the goal of changing the planet one story at a time, with the majority of his documentaries and series featuring people, supported by stunning his visuals and rare insights into the human spirit.
