Colin Putt’s autobiography will be launched at Gleebooks, 49 Glebe Point Rd, Glebe, Sydney.
There will be an in-house audience and also participation via a designated YouTube channel.
Anyone wishing to attend should register at the Gleebooks Events website. When registering, be sure to indicate either in-house or remote attendance.
Colin’s wife, Jane Putt, will launch the book. There will be a number of speakers including the editor Dr Jill Kenny and Colin’s old friend and fellow-expeditioner Dr Grahame Budd AM. There will also be a short film made from original footage of the Patanela expedition to Heard Island in 1964-65 which resulted in the first ascent of Australia’s highest mountain, Big Ben.
There will be refreshments at 2.30 pm before the launch begins at 3.00 pm.
