About / Bio
Rob is one of the most prolific expeditioners in Australasia. Having previously worked as General Manager/Expedition Leader for Deep Ocean Expeditions he planned, organised and lead expeditions to the deepest dive sites on the planet including the RMS Titanic and the battleship Bismarck. He was the in-country manager for James Cameron's test dive series in PNG for the full ocean depth submersible 'Deep Challenger'.
Rob is a founding partner of EYOS Expeditions, a cutting edge private expedition company that has lead over 1000 safe and successful expeditions, primarily to the polar regions and the remote tropics. EYOS Expeditions continues a very active expedition programme, including many noticeable 'firsts' each year.
As a design consultant Rob was a core part of the design team of the 'next gen' expedition vessels in the SeaXplorer range (55m to 100m) the worlds first private yachts designed for icebreaking, good seakeeping and long endurance.
Rob's deep water career has continued as a partner of Williamson and Associates, a deep water search facility on Washington USA perhaps best known for locating the HMAS Sydney and the hospital ship Centaur. He has previously worked on the project to locate and recover AF447.
Rob is based in Seattle, Washington where he remains a keen aircraft and submersible pilot. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and sits on the Executive of IAATO.
